Nursery/Early Years Foundation Stage
At Aldenham Nursery we support children through the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
What is the EYFS?
The EYFS refers to the time in your child’s life between birth and the age of 5. This stage takes children through the whole of Nursery to the end of their Reception year - it’s during this time that children learn valuable skills such as communication, creativity, and how to understand the world.
At Aldenham Prep Riyadh, we provide a high-quality education for young children at this most crucial time. Children at this age develop rapidly, and at different rates, but we ensure they learn how to learn. For this reason, it’s vital that this happens in an exciting and stimulating environment.
At Aldenham Prep Riyadh, we provide a happy, nurturing and warm environment where quality learning takes place and the needs of each individual child are fulfilled.
There are seven areas of learning and development which guide professionals at Aldenham. Staff focus on ensuring your child develops a healthy attitude to learning, engaging in play and activities as they learn new skills and knowledge.
First, we help our pupils to develop the three prime areas that are most essential for healthy development and future learning..
- Communication and Language
- Physical Develoment
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
As children grow, we build on these prime areas and help them develop skills in four specific areas.
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Understanding the World
- Expressive Arts and Design
These seven key areas are used to plan your child's learning and activities each day. At Aldenham, the dedicated professionals teaching and supporting your child will ensure that their daily activities are suited to your child's unique needs. This is a little bit like a curriculum in primary and secondary schools, but is more suitable for very young children. It has been carefully designed to be flexible so staff can follow your child's unique needs and interests while continuing to develop them appropriately.
Children in the Nursery learn by playing with others, being active, and exploring creative and critical thinking, both indoors and outdoors on our stunning campus.
